CurriculumDevelopment*
In 2005, I came to work in Saudi Arabia
at University College—Yanbu.
This was a brand-new university with no curriculum in place. I’m currently
(March 06) developing the curriculum for the English and Linguistics
departments. This is an interesting project because I’m developing all
aspects of the courses, including course policies, tests, an instituting a
writing lab at the university. This work will be posted soon.
*2004: Wrote practice tests
for the TOEIC exam prep at Chonnam National
University, which can be
seen at http://teggatz.com/test.htm.
*2003: Developed lessons for Woosong University’s
Intensive Camp Activities Book, which
can be seen at http://teggatz.com/woosonglessons.htm.
From 1997-2000, I worked as a curriculum developer for the University
of Wisconsin’s School of Education. I worked for a
think-tank within the university, the Center for Education and Work. The goal
here was to design curriculum that integrates career development curricula into
the every-day classroom. In this job, I wrote lessons for textbooks, the web,
and interactive CD-ROMs. The Center is unique in American education and hosts
the only conference in the US
on integrating career development into the classroom. I was a presenter at two
of the conferences (this is listed on my resume).
